Spain's culture is unique and reams of blogs and papers and TikToks and articles dot the internet even more so as more and more people travel, immigrate and decide that Spain should be a new temporary or forever home. But, one thing I've not heard anyone talk about yet is, how Spain sees NY.

It's an intense party. Usually you are with family and friends and there is a big dinner, lots of food, lots to drink and suddenly the TV is on and 12 grapes are in our hands and we gobble them down and scream happy new year and drink too much champagne and hug and kiss and scream! I love it and when we have have done it right, its so memorable. We got to this year and we all woke up a little hungover the next morning but with no regrets!

But the fun cultural process starts. NYE happens and we sleep it off and suddenly, there is another party, this one for the kids. Candy is thrown, 3 kings come and parade about town and the next morning, everyone gets toys and candy. FINALLY Christmas is over, but we continue.

For the next days and weeks, until you've seen everyone, Happy New Year or Feliz Año must be said! I feel like I've said it into Feb, and if you don't, you get scolded into it! They take this new years wishes to the max, and even my husband has been shocked in the changing room at the gym with a unclothed FELIZ Año hug!

So, Happy New Year! Feliz Año! And let's find you your new dream home in Spain!
